Avoiding Stress On Your Wedding Day

The man of your dreams has romantically proposed, of course you say yes! You rush to tell family and friends, you excitedly set the date, life is good… next comes the wedding planning, juggling your time and money, ploughing through endless to do lists, politely rising above interfering friends and family and resisting the will to throw or break something when your car driver carelessly double books and cancels one week before the date.

Miraculously you kept on track, you kept your sanity and the day is set to be perfect! But what’s that? The niggling anxiety that surely something will go wrong, something will be forgotten, broken – disaster will strike! Never fear, we have a few answers to the most common worries and problems a bride faces.

The NO-show -Will he be waiting for me at the alter? – Of course, relax, he was the one to ask you after all, even with those little not so subtle hints he still made the executive decision to ask you all by himself! Plus he hasn’t headed for the hills yet- he has stuck around for the planning of the day itself when yes maybe once or twice bridezilla threw a tantrum or two. He’s in for the long haul and cannot wait to make you his wife!

*We strongly recommend that you put you foot down and not let his best mate have the stag do too near the wedding day, a missing groom somewhere in Europe, a hung-over groom stood at the alter or a groom found tied to a lamp post would be what we consider a problem!

Your bridesmaids – strong and in control, not a chance in hell that they are going to let anything spoil your day. Rely on them, delegate to them, they are your closest friends and you know you can trust there decision making. Let them deal with any problems that may occur, leaving yourself free to enjoy and experience your day.

* A recovery kit is a great idea to combat any little problems regarding unplanned predicaments, leave it in the hands of your most trusted bridesmaid (the most sensible out of the group, not the one most likely to have snook off with the best man) small enough to be kept in her bag, consisting of useful bits like nail varnish to combat chipped nails and ladders in stockings! Hairspray to keep your locks looking glamorous, a mini sewing kit to fix snags or tears, baby wipes to remove any marks and stains, makeup for beauty touch ups and perfume to keep you smelling wonderful.

Good company -, Enjoy having all of your friends and family in the same place, catch up, reminisce, and enjoy the party, they are all here to help you celebrate your big day and they couldn’t be happier for you, you have spent a lot of time planning the day so please take time to enjoy it – make it worth it!

The Come down -

You did it, you planned a wedding, had a wedding and come out of the other side smiling, your wedding was a success, but now what will you do? You dedicated so much time into planning the thing you felt like it was your second job, well never fear its not all over just yet…you can focus on your new life as a Mrs, open all of those generous presents, write thank you cards, honeymoon, fill out name change forms, organise wedding albums… Oh will it never end?
