Living In Antarctica: What Would You See By Visiting The Continent

The southernmost animal that has ever been known to live is the tiny pink mite native to Antarctica/ Fungi and algae are what the arachnid uses for its own sustenance. A Hawaiian museum entomologist located this mite only a short time ago, as close as 309 miles to the South Pole. This same scientist also found lichens only 266 miles from the Pole. That’s as close to the Pole as life has ever been found. Continue reading

A Time For Antarctic Travel

Deciding on a trip is very easy for most people. This was the idea that led an Australian businessman and brainstormer to organize a charted flight, the first one in the world, heading for the Antarctic on February 13, 1877. When he looked at a map, this active 33 year old electronic executive thought to himself why he has not seen or heard about any normal aircraft being able to fly over the Antarctic and come back to Sydney on the same day. Rules For Students In Antarctica

Waste is how the contents of the bags and plastic vials may be described by someone who is not totally familiar with them. Surely able to make the scientists as busy as can be are these samples obtained from the Larsen Ice Shelf in Antarctica. There are a lot of things to learn from mud as a college senior said. Physicians Requesting National Health Insurance

It is the belief of thousands of U.S doctors are asking the government to provide resources for national health coverage, which they think might be able to cover the health care needs of all Americans while also saving a substantial amount of money. Many physicians now assert, that the resolutions provided by the private sector, have not been effective, since the last attempt at a national health plan came up short. Due to stern opposition by insurance, pharmaceutical, and medical industries, it became embroiled in debate and intricacies, and never made it through Congress. Continue reading

Cavities And The Problems They Cause

If you can recall that commercial on TV where a child rushes to his father and interrupts him from his duties in order to tell him that he has a cavity, then you pretty much have an idea of the conditions of dental health in the country. Even at the rate of one cavity every six months, assuming the child visits the dentist on the recommended schedule, this child’s happy boast actually means that by the age of 21, most of his or her teeth will have had a cavity. Continue reading
