Get Great Fitness Using a Cross Trainer
Elliptical cross trainers have been around for a long time now and continue to grow in level of popularity. One reason is the improved quality which can be found in most most recent household versions. Traditionally, treadmill machines and stationary bicycles have been the personal trainers of choice in home based exercise equipment for aerobic health. This has stopped being necessarily correct as elliptical cross trainers offer several advantages which are not found in either treadmills or exercise bikes. In addition to giving a far more total body workout, elliptical fitness machines also provide a more expansive workout that mixes strength training with a typical cardio program that to a lot of people can feel less physically demanding than alternative work outs.
The earliest home models of elliptical cross trainers received much criticism for a variety of good reasons. To begin with, these were loud and never typically anywhere near to as smooth running as their gym cousins. Love This – Natural Yoga Mat Critique
I also didn’t agree with some of the other reviews saying it was too heavy. It’s a bit heavy, but not too much to carry around all over — I made a carry handle from a yoga strap (looped over both ends of the rolled up mat) and throw it over my shoulder. Not to mention that you now have to carry around 2 items, not just one. I recognize that a mat that has an open cell system will require periodic washing, but it also means that my back won’t give out doing what should be a fairly simple pose. The smell that it gives out has been proven harmful to health! PVC “off-gassing” can last for a year or longer, before the product stops emitting the toxic fume. I washed it as suggested, with a brush and soap, and let it dry in the sun for 2 days. It still has the slippery film on it, despite all that and using it about 6 times. Continue reading
